November: Model Train Month- Jacie

November is Model Train Month, and Science Spectrum where I work is was no exception! On top of the fact we regularly have a model train display upstairs, we also  opened TWO movies in our OMNI Theater about trains, put up two H and O scale Holiday themed trains around our giant Christmas tree, AND had the Lubbock Model Train Association set up a huge display in our Explorazone featuring at least 4-5 HO scale trains, I believe.

This shot is my boss’s favorite stock image I took as a promo piece for our train month. Enjoy!

Button Awareness Day – Rob

OK I don’t think it’s really an “awareness” day, but November 16 is Button Day.

I wanted to do something different for November; the first few ideas I had fell apart – literally – and then my creativity level dropped after another couple of failed attempts. I decided to go with Button Day because 1) it was easy, 2) I was lazy, 3) I didn’t have much time…as I waited until the last minute, and 4) I thought this would give me a chance to play with some of the new presets I got for Abobe Lightroom. Anyway, here is my shot for November:

I posted some others here.

Many thanks to Kent Sparkman for the plethora of LR presets!!

Alison – Candy Corn!

My favorite Halloween snack!

Happy Halloween, everybody. Yes, I think we all cheated and went the easy route this month by choosing the same holiday, but I don’t care, we each celebrated in a different way. I celebrated by blacking out the windows, turning off the porch light, putting on a scary movie and stuffing my face with half a bag of candy corn. Is this really how adults celebrate holidays now?

Oh well, on to the next month!

Fright Night With Moonlight- Jacie

My Holiday/Special Event was all rolled into one! All this month, I’ve been working like crazy on a show put together for my glee club “Moonlight Directions.” I actually wrote the script for the musical we titled “Fright Night with Moonlight.” It was such a blast to both write and perform in the show. And even more fun? Getting to make my own costume & do hair/makeup as Daphne from Scooby Doo! After I finished, though, I had to lend a hand to some zombies… This is the youngest member of our group, Rachel, whose hair I helped make happen. Enjoy!

Simon: October Holiday or Significant event

IMG_0927Yes, I also chose Holloween.

How can you pass it up. It is the one day a year where you carve scary faces into vegetables, put on strange costumes and demand that your neighbors provide you with candy or else…

Literally the greatest holiday ever made.

You can see more of my stuff at simonponder.net. Once I throw a rock at my webhost.
